# The sources behind Gout Life

> General educational information, not medical advice, diagnosis, or treatment.

A confident sentence should have something behind it. This site’s research foundation separates clinical guidelines, medicine labels, patient information, trials, evidence reviews, and food measurements. They answer different questions and have different limitations.

## Clinical guidance

ACR’s management guideline supports the US treatment summary. NICE NG219 provides diagnostic and management guidance. EULAR recommendations add crystal-identification and imaging detail. Where recommendations differ, the relevant pages say so rather than presenting a single invented consensus. [S01] [S02] [S03] [S04] [S05]

## Medicine labels

Official US labels support medicine-specific warnings, contraindications, indications, and product details. Formulation matters and labels can change. Use current prescribing information and local guidance for clinical decisions. The research set includes allopurinol, colchicine, febuxostat, probenecid, pegloticase, and canakinumab labels. [S09] [S10] [S11] [S12] [S13] [S14]

## Everyday questions and remedies

Government patient information and evidence reviews support practical explanations. Trial findings need their population, comparison, duration, and limitations kept intact. A short-term blood result is not automatically evidence of fewer flares. A commercial product page is not proof of benefit. Abstract-only and conference-report limits are identified where relevant. [S06] [S07] [S08] [S15] [S17] [S18] [S19] [S20]

## Food measurements

The measured purine reference uses the September 2026 USDA/ODS-NIH workbook and documentation. It retains raw and cooked descriptions, units, and worksheet-row provenance. The older Kaneko paper supplies analytical and regional context rather than serving as the sole source for the current table. [S26] [S27] [S28] [S29]

## What a review date should mean

A preparation date or a checked link does not establish medical review. High-risk claims require current-source checks and relevant professional expertise. Any reviewer credit or review date must refer to an actual completed review.
